Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains what sueyourdealer.com collects, what the cookie pop-up and the chat widget on this site do, what happens to a case evaluation after you submit it, and how to change your cookie choice. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

What Does This Website Collect?
Four things. Server logs record the pages requested, the time, the requesting IP address, and the browser's user-agent string, the way every web server does. Google Analytics 4, only if you turn it on in the cookie pop-up, records which pages are visited and roughly how visitors move through the site. The chat widget records what you type into it. The free case evaluation records your answers, any documents you upload, and your contact details.
We do not sell personal information, this site sets no advertising cookies, and nothing you type into the chat or the case evaluation is used for advertising or shared with an advertising network.
Which Cookies Does This Site Use?
The cookie pop-up you see on your first visit has two categories. Essential storage is always on: it saves your cookie choice, remembers that you dismissed a notice, and holds the reference number for a case evaluation in progress. It sets no advertising or tracking cookie. Analytics (Google Analytics) is off by default. The Google Analytics 4 script is not loaded, and no analytics cookie is set, unless you choose Accept all or turn the Analytics switch on and choose Save my choices. Reject non-essential, or pressing Escape, keeps everything except essential storage off.
Your choice is stored in your browser for about six months. To change it, use the Manage Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page; the pop-up reopens with the switches showing your current choice. Turning Analytics off after it was on reloads the page so the analytics script stops. Clearing your browser's site data for sueyourdealer.com also resets the choice.
The chat widget is not controlled by the cookie pop-up. It is a functional part of the site, not a tracking tool, and it loads on every page except the case-evaluation page regardless of which cookie choice you make.
Some pages embed a video or podcast player from YouTube or Buzzsprout. Nothing from either service loads when you open the page; a thumbnail and a play button are shown instead, and the player loads only if you click it, at which point that visit is subject to YouTube's or Buzzsprout's own privacy policy rather than this one.
What Happens to the Chat Conversation?
The chat widget in the corner of most pages is part of this site, run by the firm rather than by an outside chat provider. Every conversation is recorded and stored with the firm's intake records. Most of what the assistant says is fixed text chosen by the firm; when you type a question it cannot match to one of those answers, the text of that question is sent to an artificial-intelligence model (Anthropic's API) to draft a reply, and the transcript may be analyzed with the same kind of tool to route the question and summarize it for the firm. A person at the firm may read it. The chat cannot review your case; the only way to have a case reviewed is the free case evaluation at sueyourdealer.com/case-evaluation/.
Nothing said in the chat is confidential in the way a conversation with your own attorney is. Using the chat does not create an attorney-client relationship and is not protected by attorney-client privilege. Anything typed into the chat is handled as an ordinary business message rather than a private one.
What Does the Case Evaluation Collect?
The free case evaluation collects your answers to the questionnaire, any documents you upload (such as a purchase contract, title, or CARFAX report), your name, phone number, and email address, and a record of the consents you give on the form, including whether you agreed to receive text messages. The form also records the IP address and browser user-agent of the submission and the time it was sent, so that the consent record can be verified later. When Google reCAPTCHA is enabled on the form, Google receives the technical signals it uses to tell a person from an automated script; those are covered by Google's privacy policy.
What Happens to a Case Evaluation?
A submitted case evaluation is stored on the firm's systems and handled internally: it is reviewed by an attorney or by staff working under an attorney's supervision, and it may be summarized with artificial-intelligence tools to speed up that review. If the firm can assist, you receive an intake questionnaire and a retainer agreement by email; if not, you receive an email saying so. Submitting the evaluation does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. The firm does not review cases sent by email; the questionnaire is the only intake path.
Some matters belong with one of the firm's sister firms rather than with Sue Your Dealer. Manufacturer warranty and lemon-law matters are handled by Lemonaid Firm (lemonaidfirm.com), and credit-reporting matters by Sue Your Credit Report (sueyourcreditreport.com). When a matter is referred to one of them, the submission, including uploaded documents and contact details, may be shared with that firm so that it can review the matter. No submission is sold or shared with anyone else for marketing.
Who Processes Data on the Firm's Behalf?
The site runs on WordPress hosting from GoDaddy, with Cloudflare in front of it as the content-delivery network and security layer; both see the server-log data described above in the ordinary course of serving pages and blocking abusive traffic. Google provides Google Analytics (only when you opt in) and reCAPTCHA (when enabled on the case-evaluation form). The chat widget is the firm's own and its transcripts are stored on this site; Anthropic's API processes the text of a chat question when the assistant drafts an answer to it. Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy policy and acts as a processor for the firm rather than using the data for its own purposes.
How Long Is Information Kept?
Chat transcripts and case evaluations that do not become client matters are kept for as long as the firm needs them to run conflict checks and to answer follow-up questions, and are then deleted in the ordinary course. Records of matters the firm takes on are kept for the length of the engagement and afterward for as long as The Florida Bar's record-keeping rules require. Server logs are kept for a short operational period and then rotated. Google Analytics data is retained under Google's standard retention setting and is never joined to a name or an email address by the firm.
Your Choices
You can leave analytics off, change that choice at any time from the footer link, and use the whole site without ever opening the chat. If you have submitted a case evaluation and want it deleted before an attorney has reviewed it, call (954) 321-0507 with the reference number from your confirmation screen and we will delete it. If you agreed to text messages and want that to stop, replying STOP to any message ends them.
Children
This site is not directed to anyone under 18, and the firm does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a child's information reaches the firm through the chat or the case evaluation, a phone call to the number below is enough to have it deleted.
Changes to This Policy
When the site's tools change, this policy changes with it, and the Last updated date at the top of the page moves. Material changes, such as adding a new category to the cookie pop-up, will be reflected in the pop-up itself as well as here.
